Synths: The Stuff of Dreams

Synthesizers are so captivating to me. How can something so synthetic capture emotions that are so genuine? I love the 1980s music and culture, but I'm glad I'm in the 2000s where synths are easier to pick up than ever before. We have countless resources to learn from, and on top of that, plugins are SUPER cheap (sometimes even free!). Hardware synths are another deal, but they are still quite affordable generally speaking. I don't know where I'd be if I wasn't making music right now. I don't know if I'd have a purpose, and for that, I'd have to thank synthesizers. Nothing has captured my imagination or attention like electronic music growing up. The earliest song that I can remember enjoying is probably Metro by Berlin. As a kid, my dad would play music from his computer while he made dinner. Us kids would dance to the music and use brooms as electric guitars. I always remember being amazed at how electronics let you capture sounds that appear absolutely nowhere in nature. The pure concept of it was, and still is, mind blowing to me. I'm very grateful to have had the opportunity to learn on and possess some great hardware and software synthesizers. Thank you synths, and I'll never forget you! <3 ~Rayne~
